These sessions are not about posing and hair and makeup but capturing the emotion in a relaxed environment. The whirlwind of wonder coupled with sleep deprivation can cause these memories to be lost in time. I’m here to help capture these little moments; baby and mom getting to know each other, snuggles with dad, siblings meeting each other for the first time. These precious photos will slow down time and help you relive the moments again and again.

I do send a prep guide to help prepare families for a Fresh 48 session. It includes clothing recommendations and tips and tricks for a smooth session. They receive this upon booking.
What is a Fresh 48?
A Fresh 48 is a special session, within the hospital, within baby’s first 48 hours of life. They are so “fresh” and new, still swollen from delivery. They have that velvety skin and perfect fuzzy hair. These sweet babies change so much even after being just a few days old, so this session is to capture them as they are when you first meet your new love so that you can remember it forever. It’s also about remembering the details of the hospital, as your new little family adjusts to it’s newest member.
Do you provide outfits?
This session is more documentary and less posed like a studio newborn session would be. A Fresh 48 is about capturing the newness of your newborn and their sweet details, while still remembering those first few hours in the hospital. I like to stick with the white onesie the hospital provides as well as the blue and white blanket. Though if you have something special you want them to wear, we can certainly use it at the end of your session.
Do you have a promotion when a Fresh 48 is booked with another session?
Sometimes, yes! Contact me and I will let you know my current discounts.
How long is a Fresh 48 session?
Typically, it is 30 minutes to one hour, depending on baby and if they need feeding breaks.
Who all can be there for the session?
I ask that only mom and dad be in the room for the beginning so that I can focus on baby first and capturing them, though any siblings and grandparents are welcome to join in for the second half of the session!
How soon will we see our images?
A preview is available within 24 hours and your gallery is viewable within one week for you to select your 10 images. You also will have the option to purchase additional images if desired!
When should I book?
As soon as possible! This is due to the on-call nature of a Fresh 48 so I can only accept a limited amount per month and my calendar fills up quickly!
Invest
Session Fees are due at time of booking.
The session fee covers the time and talent of the photographer and all that is required to run a successful studio.
Fresh 48: $350
For this session, I will be on call to ensure I am available to photograph your time with your baby within 48 hours of birth. These are typically taken in the hospital to capture the first sweet hours with your baby as well as all the details of the beginning of their life. This session is up to one hour and includes 10 digital images.
